Laszlo Szerenyi has more than 35 years of experience in network and product engineering with global industry leaders and standards organizations, including MCI, WorldCom, and Alcatel. Prior to joining Genesis, Laszlo was an Advisory Engineer with MCI responsible for optical standards coordination and development in support of its worldwide voice and data/IP network. As a member of the MCI Advanced Technology group, he was responsible for the introduction of new data technologies, including SMDS and Frame Relay. He planned and specified the introduction and deployment of messaging and virtual wideband data services (Global Communication Service, HyperStream Frame Relay and Global Billing System) and their back office support systems. As member of the Technical Standards department he coordinated transmission standards requirements and developed and advocated corporate positions in U.S. and international standards bodies successfully. Laszlo was also member of the U.S. State Department delegation to the ITU-T, a UN treaty organization for the development and harmonization of telecommunication standards. One major success was the proposal and global acceptance of the 100GHz DWDM grid which spurned a $10+ Billion DWDM optical market from 1998-2000.

Laszlo has been awarded 4 patents, and he has also authored "EDFA Applications in the Terrestrial Network, and Future Directions." Published by the Optical Society of America, Trends in Optics and Photonic Systems (TOPS) 1996. Laszlo received his BSEE from Cornell University and a MBA from Nova University.
